HW#7

Question 1: Fibonacci sequence
I used a dialog box to ask for user input

Question 2: Halley's algorithm to estimate square root
I also used a dialog box for this question.

Lecture 8

We did not cover much today because most of the class was spent working on our projects. We went over loops (while and for)
We made a factorial function by using if else statements and a for loop.

For this context example, we graphed the alternating harmonic series. We used a while loop to keep calculating the values until there was a 0.001 difference between numbers. The if statement checks that if 100 iterations have been executed, the program will break out of the loop.

Lecture 7

Using if/else and switch cases

Practicing:

Context example: buying gas using switch cases

Practical exercises (the comment/section title shows what we are practicing)

I've already used if/else and switch case before in previous classes. It was nice to see the difference between using the find() function and using if/else and switch case. I'll begrudgingly admit that the find() function is way easier to use in MATLAB.
